Special Dispatch to the Standard Lewistown Jan a The freight trains to arrive here since Saturday came in about a midnight fast night bringing a large accumulation of mail. The train left this city as usual today and got through to Lombard all right. There was no train in today but the regular schedule will be continued tomorrow. Track conditions are much improved today and no hazard of any tosaen in the Judith basin. The weather is clear and warmer over Dawson county. Heavy stock losses have occurred in the last few days. There are several banks of sleep in that area. The secu Ja all gone and the snow is crusted. Most large stock outfits in Fergus county report Vee po Rerlouws Ines.
Retired chaplain Dudley Chase formerly served as army chaplain from 1864. He helped at forts in California and Nevada. Chase was connected to Rev De Pylan der Chase and his family. He died in Philadelphia.
Butte women clubs heard Judge Ben Lindsey of Denver discuss juvenile courts and urged local action. Speakers urged community leadership, enforcement of existing laws, and parental responsibility while proposing cooperative efforts by women to push for a juvenile court in the city.
The meeting outside Tangers featured J C Gunn urging a safeguarded juvenile system. Speakers including Mrs Turney Jo A Paore and Miss O Neill urged home love and policing, with resolutions formed by a women’s club committee to present to legislators.
R A Holley, once a Silver Bow purveyor, married Aliss Bostwick at her parents home on West Mercury Street. The ceremony was led by Rev. George Kasselruth of St Paul’s Episcopal Church with close relatives and family friends in attendance. The couple will honeymoon and then reside in their new home in the state.
Jongh Th Walgamett aged about 30 to 33, a Butte native, died yesterday in Los Angeles California of heart trouble after a short illness. He recently married Miss Alice Rooney of Butte and was a clerk and stenographer in the Great Northern railway passenger department. He belonged to the Eagles and the Carpenters unions. Funeral plans await word from his relatives in Indian Territory.
Early yesterday morning burglars entered the Great Northern and Arcade saloons on South Arizona street and tried Jolmaton lounge on South Moy tana street. Blood from a cut hand marked their path. fifty nine dollars vanished from the Great Northern and a bottle of whiskey plus cigars at Arcade. Johnson house windows briefly frightened the intruders. Police work continues with few solid facts.
Butte Denver bowlers defeated a chosen opponent in a three game match at Thorn ton plays. Team members Merkle McKinles Taylor Rick Patrick Ellis Batts Sheehan Ven Ells Jackson Adams Periam posted strong scores with final totals 2820 for the winners and 2587 for the losers. The funeral for John Burana will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. starting at 322 North Alabama, then to St. Patrick's Church for requiem high mass.
A pleasant surprise party was given last evening to Mr and Mrs Clark Turner at their home 31 West Woolman Street. The evening included games and music. Mrs Turner received a glass sugar and creamer as a gift.
In Ballard Washington a masked robber at 5 o clock robs the Brunswick saloon of $250 in cash and two gold watches after forcing six men to show hands. Charley Henry, brother of the bartender, fires a shot but misses the bandit. Police link the crime to a prior hold up at a Ballard business.

At Palm Beach on a frigid January day the Dixie, owned by Commodore E F Schroeder and the Motor Boat Club of America, delivered sensational driving in the Take Worth event. In a 10 mile race for boats of 3 feet or more, the Dixie finished in 2 minutes? seconds, then won the five mile event in 11 minutes? seconds. The craft reportedly kept a blistering pace, completing laps with times around 1 minute 21 seconds and 10 minutes 65 seconds, a speed of about 8.4 miles per hour, as excitement built among spectators.
Oakland and New Orleans results show numerous races with winners such as Larconteur Supreme Court Lone Wolf Watchins Grace G. and Guy Mannering. Times range from 1 05 to 2 03 in various five to seven and a half furlong heats, with second and third place horses listed for each event.
