A special meeting of the Anaconda Retail Merchants Association adopted resolutions of sympathy for Daniel J. Hennessy, a leading merchant. Stores will be closed Thursday morning until 1 40 o'clock in his memory, with a committee appointed to draft further expressions of condolence.

Curlers Enjoy Practice Game At The Ice Rink

A strong crowd attended a practice curling game at the ice rink last night. The Angcode band provided music while Rev. HA Carnahan joined as a new curler, impressing fellow players. In the main interteam match, the Mooney rink defeated the Bower rink by a wide margin with players J B McIntosh, William Wraith, Hart Martin and Ben Mooney leading Gus Goliberg’s team.

John S Dougherty former super intend ent of the Anaconda smelter and long resident of the city died at his home 4 Cherry street at 4 30 am from pneumonia after a brief illness He was born in Pennsylvania 35 years ago and came to Anaconda 22 years ago He leaves a wife and five children and three sisters in Pennsylvania The funeral will be a high mass at St Pauls church and interment in Carmel cemetery with friends and relatives in attendance
