World record speeds set on Sheepshead Bay track
Tommy Milton piloted a 300 cubic inch Duesenberg to 113 miles in 60 minutes at Sheepshead Bay setting new non-stock car records in time trials observed by the AAA. Jimmie Murphy and Dave Lewis also posted high mileages in 183 and 450 inch displacements, aided by Goodyear tires, with notable 98 182 and 111 mile first hour marks respectively.
