City officials warn drug traffic is expanding rapidly in Butte. Over ten years confirmed drug fiends rose more than 300 percent and users exceed 200, with shop activity swelling from a few stores to about ten. Officials urge citizen cooperation to halt what they call degeneracy and predatory trafficking that harms youth.
In Topeka Kansas on January 16 President-elect Harding replied to Lucy Page Gaston of Chicago head of the anti cigarette league. He urged the movement be carried on in perfect good faith and that it should be the tone for those giving it earnest attention.
