A snowslide struck a Mayflower Gulch home near Cornucopia killing Mrs. Harry Fisher and her two children, a three year old boy and a nine year old girl. Mine workers recovered the bodies, another slide trapped a tramway, and eight men remained marooned at the Queen of the West mine awaiting extraction. Snow depths ranged from 12 to 15 feet at Cornucopia.

In a Cairo cablegram Mary Lalor widow of John G. Morony and daughter of pioneer Montana editor Capt. James H. Mills died at 5 o clock this morning. Survived by her husband sister Mrs. Willoughby G. Dyer and brother James Hamilton Mills. A Montana society figure known for charity and war work, she was born in Deer Lodge and admired for beauty and character.
Flood conditions near Portland Oregon disrupted traffic along the Willamette and Columbia river system. Two of five bridges closed, trapping the city as congestion rose. About 1500 paper mill workers joined a concrete breakwater effort to defend the waterfront, with the wall just inches from failure.

She denied the accusations as ridiculous. The Roehls reportedly eloped in Wallace, Idaho.
