County finances show improvement in annual report

King Wolf of the Rockies Said to Be One of Largest Killed
Blossburg reports describe the kill of a massive long distance shot wolf. H A Sohn, Northern Pacific operator at Blossburg, used a 20 80 rifle to drop the animal at over a quarter mile, with shots through the forequarters and shoulder. The five foot, 18 pound predator drew a $5 state bounty on pelts.

M C Larkin of 817 East Park avenue received word that Thomas Larkin died December 14 in Ametree County Monaghan Ireland. A former lower works foreman he left for his native land in May with his wife and one child who remain there. He leaves an aged father two sisters and three brothers in Ireland and brothers M C Hugh and sister Mrs P H Marron in this city. He carried life insurance with the Catholic Order of Foresters and was active in many fraternal orders.

Fugitives Kill Sheriff in Wyoming Wild Chase
Sheriff W C Ricker was fatally shot during pursuit of four escaped prisoners Clarence Woodward Charles Woodward David Foote and C C Franklin. The gang escaped Dec 31 and were ambushing 75 miles west of Casper when the sheriff was hit in the breast and not expected to survive. The posse continues the chase with no reported injuries to the outlaws.
