Montana House Abolish Railroad Commission Fails Amid Debate
In a lengthy afternoon session the Montana House killed four bills and failed to pass the Larson measure abolishing the railroad commission by a 36 to 49 roll call. Burns argued the ex officio board would draw the attorney general into the commission, while Graybill defended the measure amid partisan contention. Absent members and paired votes noted, as debates continued on optometry, district creation, and primary reform.
