Pioneer Montana Matron Mrs Hauswirth Dies
Mrs. Mary Gertrude Hauswirth, a Butte pioneer, died at 133 South Alabama Street after a five year illness. Born in Brookfield Wisconsin October 18 1849 she was 79. She helped guard homes care for the sick and support her family with courage as a soldier’s wife in the western settlement. Her death follows a long life of frontier service.
