Burlington Excursions Boost Butte Tourism This Summer
Over 3,000 travelers plus auto tourists are expected to visit Butte as Burlington lines expand tours to Glacier and Yellowstone. Last year 1,500 passengers cost the railroad near 4000 dollars for meals and cab hire, with spenders likely higher. This year two excursions are planned, with Yellowstone arrivals Wednesdays and Glacier trips on Saturdays, using taxicabs to tour Butte while guides answer questions. The chamber distributes Prosperty edition materials and the book Butte to showcase local resources and industry. Montana towns vie to divert travel, while Burlington officials and Minneapolis meetings weigh options.
