The Butte city council judiciary committee plans two days of meetings to clear accumulated business before Friday night in January. The major issue is early closing of saloons supported by petitions with about 3700 names and counter petitions from saloon supporters and labor unions. Consideration also turns to restricting the bad lands district to shield women on Gelena street, and police probationary officers face permanent appointments or removal as the six months end in mid January.
