Luelia Roperty, 17, high school student, was shot in the back near toverdate on her way home with her mother. Suspect Frank Carlisle, 35, railway station agent, fled, was captured by Marshal Freid Conner and a constable, and jailed in Santa Mesa. Carlisle, a divorced editor, gave no motive for the attack.

A Great Falls woman, Mrs Isabell Maupin Gorden of Great Falls, Montana, married Yames Bruen Miller of Aberdeen, Scotland, an officer in the Scottish military service, today at the chapel in Weat Point. The bride is the daughter of Mrs Te Maupin of Great Falls. The couple will visit the South and Washington before sailing to Scotland.
In a great gale the Danish steamer Volnet was wrecked near the Evel channel with fifteen sailors drowned. The captain and another survivor were rescued after a perilous ordeal and landed at Newlyn following the wreck 46 miles southwest of the Lizard.
Governors of the New York Stock Exchange rescind the one eighth of one percent commission rule for clearing services outside the exchange. The rule had been in effect since June 18, 1911, restricting trading in handa and allowing members to arrange their own services.
