Christmas Trees Brighten Homes Across Local Households
At 4 p.m. a Christmas tree stood at Mr. and Mrs. R. Frank Pearce on Columbia street. Other trees appeared at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Symons and Mrs. Charles J. Cutler for their children and relatives. Miss Mary Jorie and the Mattisons hosted trees with young friends, while Mildred and Charlotte Towle found joy in the morning gifts as Santa prepared their trees. The piece notes the widespread custom of home trees for children.
