Read Riot Act as Officers Return to Quartermaster Roles
The article reports on a reorganization where ten officers will read the Riot Act as the quartermaster corps reabsorbs a range of wartime branches. Transportation, construction, and finance corps are folded back, except the finance corps, which remains largely independent. Absorptions followed disputes and internal frictions among specialized groups. Former assistant secretary Davin knew much about these inside tensions, and as secretary he is blamed for potentially using that knowledge to fuel internal rows.
