Minneapolis December 20 Nearly children invaded the hotel for dinner after a stranger spread word that Santa would attend Saturday afternoon. The hotel manager, unaware of the Santa event, arranged a full dinner despite the mixed ages 5 to 15 and both girls and boys present.
A New London express car heavily loaded with Christmas packages caught fire while passing through East Lynne. The express messenger clung to the outside to warn the engineer before collapse. A coffin-like container within the car held the body of David Lonergan of York, badly charred.
