Jimmy Smith the Best Money Bowler in the United States
Brooklyn bowler Jimmy Smith, often called the best money bowler, rose from pin boy to top contender. Born Sept 10, 1886 in New York, he built a career on the natural ball, matching frames with Franz of Cleveland and Vorhees for substantial stakes. He later opened a Brooklyn alley and cafe on Smith Street, after years of tourneys and a noted run of perfect 800 games.
