Butte Chamber Endorses Governor Stewart on Troops
The Butte Chamber of Commerce board endorses Gov. Sam V. Stewart’s reply to UMW leader Henry Drennan. It states no law abiding citizen should fear government troops and defends keeping troops in Montana until relief is assured, while stating troops protect workers and miners will operate the mines. The directors also ratified a contract for a spring membership drive with the American City Bureau.
