English and German governments demand a satisfactory settlement from Castro's Venezuela within a brief period. If the dispute remains unresolved, customs will be seized to satisfy claims against the South American republic.
London and Berlin press Venezuela to settle claims as Britain and Germany threaten seizure of customs. Venezuela’s President Castro faces ultimata with time limits, while British and German ministers depart Caracas for La Guayra aboard warships.

Big Timber reports engineer English of the Cowles Mining Company found frozen to death in deep snow near Cowles mining camp. He left Nov 30 for a prospector cabin three miles away during a blizzard and did not return, later discovered by his dog and a search party. He had worked at Cowles for some time and was well regarded by local miners.
