Decision in Helena land contest favors contestees

The Helena land office rules in favor of contestee Dr. F L St Jean in a land contest against William Kelliher over an acre set near Moonlight Lake. The decision upholds the land as agricultural not mineral, noting no values were shown in the vein and that mineral findings, if any, lie outside the contested ground. The ruling affects Ike Hiber’s adjacent Mill Creek homestead and requires a move of his buildings if needed.
