Three separate German raids struck London in the early hours, aimed at drawing fire and locating defenses. Incendiaries caused fires while bombs were lighter. two raiders were shot down and crews captured. Casualties included seven dead and 21 injured overall, with additional deaths and injuries in surrounding districts.
