Train collision injures few on Milwaukee switch engine

A Milwaukee switch engine backing onto the main line caused a collision with the incoming electric passenger train near the Butte yards. Several passengers and crew received slight bruises. the trailer showed minor damage. Engineer G D Richards attempted to reverse to avoid impact as the 8:56 AM crash occurred about 100 feet west of Colorado street crossing.
