Plans for consolidating Butte city county government
Representatives elected to the legislature met with the chamber of commerce at the Silver Bow club to discuss consolidating city and county government in Butte and Iver Bow county. An amendment to the constitution may be needed to have one set of officials govern both. A follow up meeting is set for Monday to continue deliberations before the legislative session. Chancellor E C Elliott attended and praised the chamber for supporting two educational measures.

Alleged stock rustler Huirt sought in Montana case
Helena December 3. Alleged to have mortgaged shipped and sold five carloads of cattle belonging to his employer Beaversend Township Beardsley case. Huirt of Beaverhead County is being sought by Montana authorities. He is accused of shipping a carload of horses not his own to Kansas City and selling them. He allegedly mortgaged a bank for 5100 over the state bank of Taaho. Huirt reportedly escaped El Paso police during a raid and has not been located. Kalispell obituary notes Dr Charles B Miller pioneer physician and veteran of Civil War died at his Hooser ranch home near Flathead at age 80. He retired from practice years ago and lived with son Dr Wymond Miller on a purebred cattle farm. Survived by son, a brother in Indiana, and several siblings out East.

Fines Totals in November Prohibition Cases Reach $7075
United States District Attorney George Shelton reports November activity on 49 prohibition cases. Four defendants were found not guilty, nine guilty after trial, one a jury disagreed, 30 changed pleas to guilty, and five forfeited bonds. Total fines amounted to $7075, bonds forfeited $4800, and imprisonment summed to five years five months.
