J B Lytle a Kansas pioneer died in Hiawatha Kansas after three years of almost continuous sleep. His illness began with a period of prolonged slumber in California from May to August and continued after he returned home in September. He was fed through a rubber tube during the sleep and died moments after awakening from his final rest.
The memorial bell presented by Marcus A. Hanna to the University of Wooster has been placed in the chapel tower. The inscription honors President McKinley, dated Nov. 1, 1901, and the bell weighs 2730 pounds. Services will occur when the tower is finished.
