Spargo of Butte defeated Meaderville’s Bennetts 24 to 21 in a 25 bird match for a $50 purse at Teague’s range near the race track. Spargo also won the 12 bird sweepstakes and a five bird side bet against O'Brien, with Rowe later prevailing in a 5 bird event as Bennetts and others watched. William Cummings a 46 year old miner living in a rear cabin at 412 Hopkins street was found dead in bed yesterday morning likely from natural causes. Companions Hart and O'Brien returned about 3 am and found him awake. coroner Brown to hold an inquest likely next Tuesday. He recently came from Billings and sought work without success.
