Big Gold Strike on McClintock Creek
New York Aug 23 nearly 2000 mourners gathered at the Plaza hotel to pay last tribute to John W Gates. Funeral drew Gates interests from Port Arthur and Beaumont Texas with memorials elsewhere as his body rests in Woodlawn cemetery. His estate valued at 30 to 40 million largely to widow and son Charles Gates with a 10 year non sale clause and about 1 million in other bequests to relatives friends and former employer.
