No Move Made to Confirm Shanley for School Vacancy
The school board took no action last night on confirming Dr. T. J. B. Shanley as Maginn’s successor after Maginn, who resigned four weeks ago, left for California. Board delays follow a formal resignation notice from Maginn. Prof. A. Hi. Douglass attended as new Butte superintendent, and petitions sought reestablishment of Washington junior high for lower grades.

Rivers to families such as Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Davis and Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Merrill, with travelers from Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York among others. The compilation reads like a social ledger of travel across states.

Liquor Sale Case Against Ed McHale Opens in Court
Ed McHale faced police court on charges of maintaining a place where liquor is kept for sale and serving a 17 year old girl. Witnesses testified about three gallons of liquor found at his soft drink parlor and about the girl receiving multiple drinks over three visits. The case was continued to summon additional girls and a county attorney filed further complaints including giving whiskey to a minor. A young man was also taken into custody amid a serious charge under consideration.
