Winstanley Denies Misappropriation Claims At Land Office
In a forceful statement to The Standard Missoula official A. Winstanley rejects rumors of involvement in public moneys misappropriations. He explains that while a clerk, Lynden Catlin, misused funds during 1907 to 1908, the receiver had no knowledge or control over the clerk’s actions and thus bears no responsibility. He urges inquiry to clear his name and preserves the integrity of colleagues and officials.
