Lindbergh Delivers Serum After 500 Mile Flight

Col Charles A Lindbergh flew through rain and snow from Curtissfield to Quebec delivering anti pneumonia serum to Floyd Bennett. He landed at the Plains of Abraham at 6 50 p m after a 500 mile journey in under four hours and rushed to Jeffrey Hale hospital.

Schumann-Heink Delights Butte Admirers On Brief Stop

Madame Schumann-Heink idol of the American Legion and opera star, made a brief stop in Butte yesterday between trains to greet admirers. She arrived from Great Falls on the Great Northern and left for Boise on the 5 10 train of the Oregon Short Line. Her 75 date concert tour nears its end with eight more engagements before a summer teaching return to Kansas City. Her final concert is May 14 at Eugene Oregon.

Atlanta reports a cresting flood across the southern coast as waters surge through Georgia Alabama and northwestern Florida. Norwegian Vessel Will Get Wilkins From Spitzbergen

The steamer Mina sails from Norway toward Spitzbergen to pick up Captain George H. Wilkins and Lt. Carl B. Eielson relief pilots. Wilkins plans a new Antarctic expedition starting early September and has prepared a tentative program. Mina, owned by the Northern Exploration Company, aims to reach Green Harbor to offload the flyers.

Butte Launches Huge Civic Advertising Campaign

A $4,000 intensive civic advertising drive, the largest cooperative campaign in Butte's history, was launched at a meeting of the Butte Realty board and builders. Fifty-two firm representatives attended as the four month program begins immediately to educate property owners and residents about cleaning up and painting to boost attractiveness. Each attendee pledged 10 monthly, with plans to recruit at least 50 more business leaders to fund the effort.

Two Helena Boys Die in Train Collision Near East Helena

Two East Helena youths, Stanley Sime aged 16 and William Strainer aged 9, were killed when a freight train struck their potato wagon at a track crossing. Strainer was dragged about a half mile, Sime was thrown 100 feet. Both families, the Simes and Strainers, reside in East Helena.

Milwaukee Tours to bring 1500 Butte visitors this summer

Milwaukee officials announced a summer tour plan to bring at least 1,500 well to do tourists to Butte between June 24 and August 26. Guild House party tours will include Yellowstone and Butte as main Montana stops, with trains leaving Chicago Sundays and arriving in Butte Tuesdays at 9 30 a m. The all expense trip costs 255 and each party will hold at least 125 travelers.
