Man Given Year On Theft Charge
Jalmer Mackie arrested yesterday by Police Officer Powell charged with grand larceny for taking 5 in gold and a gold watch chain worth 10 from the person of another. He entered a guilty plea, waived time for lawyer, and was sentenced to one to two years in the state prison. Lowney arraigned on concealed weapon and carrying a gun charge. plea of not guilty entered. Prior disturbances and fines cited. Deputy County Attorney Berogno represented the state.

State motor figures show rise in registrations in early 1925
State records for the first quarter of 1925 show 17 192 more cars registered than a year earlier with nearly all classes of vehicles and dealers reporting gains. March 31 registrations reached about 40 100 cars, reflecting a broad uptick in motor activity across the state.

Butte Optometrist Reappointed to State Board of Examiners
Dr John E Lorens of Butte was reappointed by Governor Erickson to the state board of examiners in optometry. The board now includes Dr N H Set of Missoula and Dr H M Roberta of Terry. The term ends April 3, 1931. Dr Lorens has resided in Butte seven years and holds a Masters from the University of St Louis. He is a member of the Butte Optical Company within Towle Winterhalter Hannifin.

The juvenile actors impressed at the Feast of the Little Lanterns held in the high school auditorium. The chorus and costuming drew praise and Miss Agatha Kelly, who trained the children, was complimented. Proceeds will fund books for the children's library.
