Miles City April 17 deputy sheriff took Perry C Keppler a sheep owner on the Big Dry into custody after Keppler claimed he had killed his partner R A Ellis in a feud over sheep and business. The pair had disputes over herd control and dissolution papers. Ellis fired first, Keppler shot Ellis in the breast with a Winchester. Ellis died at the ranch. Keppler was later jailed in Glendive as coroner’s inquest planned.

In San Antonio on Nueva street at 2:30 this morning an unknown man resisting arrest was shot dead by Police Officer Pink Taylor after firing at officers who came to arrest him on suspicion. Identified as Camilla Hanks alias Deaf Charley alias O C Hanks, he was a famed train robber with a long crime record including a 10 year Deer Lodge sentence for a Northern Pacific train hold up near Big Timber Montana in 1892.
