William H. Charlebois and John Fox were canoeing the Kootenai River near China Rapids when the boat capsized. Fox swam to shore, Charlebois disappeared, and searchers followed the river to Kootenai falls without locating the body. Charlebois cruised timber lands and aided settlers. he belonged to Modern Woodmen of America, Mason, and Mystic Shrine.

Prisoners Dig Out of Dillon Jail in Night Escape

The Montana G A R department held a state encampment at Friendship hall Anaconda with about 75 comrades and officers present including Department Commander Alanson N Bull Senior Vice Commander L E Holmes and Junior Vice Commander T J Mains. Reports on membership show 364 in 1901 and 370 in 1992. ten veterans died that year.
