Brinton tried to calm the quarrel, then Codd allegedly turned and hurled the soldier over a railing, Brinton’s body falling twelve feet. Two fellow soldiers testified Brinton did not resist.
Spokane reports Northwest Association of Sheriffs and Police approves creating a clearing house to collect and distribute crime information. Seventy officials from federal, state, city, and county agencies in Washington, Idaho, and Montana attend the session, which plans an international law enforcement conference in Coeur d Alene next July.
