Ames Library Needs 3000 Books To Open

The Ames Library Board appeals for 2000 to 3000 standard volumes before opening. It cites a donated site and building, limited running funds, and urges citizens and organizations to contribute 25 dollars or more. O. H. Cessna urges immediate gifts to secure shelves and periodicals. September 19, 1904.

Pioneer Rebecca Ann Jones's Long Iowa Life Ends in Des Moines

Rebecca Ann Jones born February 5 1822 in Frankford county Kentucky moved with family to Clay county Indiana at age fourteen. She married Isaac Jones in 1846 and raised eight children before moving to Story county Iowa in 1853 then to Des Moines to live with a son. She died September 18 1994 at her daughter’s home leaving three daughters two sons and two brothers. Funeral held Tuesday at George Kelley home Walnut Grove cemetery.

Wedding at The Knob Ties Jeannette Storms to John Goodwin

Miss Jeannette Storms, sister of Dr. Albert B. Storms, wed John Edward Goodwin of Madison Wisconsin at The Knob home of Dr. Storms. The ceremony featured cardinal and green decorations, chimes and floral tributes, with limited relatives present and plans to reside in Albany New York after October 29.
