Last Friday night the state prohibition campaign opened in the armory at Ames with H. J. Illsley presiding. Malcolm Smith of Cedar Rapids and Meredith of Los Angeles spoke on party policy, Capt. Brown and Father Coffin also addressed the crowd. Attendance was small and enthusiasm limited, and only partial reports appeared in the papers.
Hon L S Coffin of Fort Dodge passed through Webster City en route to Ames to address a Methodist conference. The event resembled a camp meeting but was a prohibition meeting that night in Ames.
