Aged Lady Dies of Fright in Nevada Home

Mrs. Dawithiornie, aged, was found on the floor of her Oak Star residence Thursday morning after a fire at her home. Initial findings suggest death from fright during attempted self rescue as smoke and powder residue indicate a blaze started by the incident. She leaves one son and two daughters.

Ames residents attended a Des Moines conference of the Methodist church in Boone with ongoing sessions through Tuesday and a large turnout expected for Sunday services. Grand jury to sit all week with inspections planned

The grand jury organized Monday will be in session all week possibly into next. Rumors hint at important cases and a thorough probe of county buildings and property, including the county farm. A. Cole of Maxwell presides as foreman with B 4% Child of Nevada as bailiff and H OK Hadley as clerk. Trial jurors met Tuesday and were dismissed to Monday. While playing basketball at Welch school yesterday noon ten year old Eleanor Murray daughter of Dr and Mrs A Murray was severely bitten by a bull dog on school grounds causing injuries.

Stange's Diagnosis Favored at Nebraska Vet Meet

In Lincoln Nebraska veterinarians from across the state joined Dean Chas H Stange of the ISC veterinary department to discuss a horse disease. Fr Raymond Pearson of New York the new president of Iowa State College is enroute home from a summer in Europe and is expected to arrive in Ames about September 1 to take up his duties here. He has been visiting near Paris and studying agricultural problems and agricultural institutions. Plans for inauguration demonstrations are under way.
