Early yesterday morning burglars entered the residence of Supt Culbertson and the home of Mrs Kendall nearby, ransacking rooms and stealing a gold watch and various items. Culbertson startled the culprits as they left, but they vanished before the marshal arrived. A $25 reward was issued for information. The loot included a silver watch a gold rolled chain a Golf charm two lens pocket magnifying glasses a purse with small change a bunch of keys one large door key one pocket knife a baby ring a 32 caliber revolver Hartford watch hunting case No 6803 Elgin works No 480491 key wince and chain large and open links heavy links a Keystone charm with D Fidler engraving Columbian half dollar and more. The Keystone charm is noted as exceptionally large and valuable.
The Ames item notes college cadets and band will ride a special train to the fair next Monday, with over two hundred in the party.
