Oscar Whitmar a barber at Sixth and Mulberry streets was arrested for intoxication after reporting to police a man kicked him in the ribs. His wife testified they were at the station when the complaint arose and that police threatened to jail her too if she paid the fine. The alleged assailant was identified to officers and later released.
