Catherine Marsh Kellogg born February 15 1835 near Conestoga Onondaga NY. Widow of Newell S Kellogg who died 1863 she had one child. She moved to Ames in 1871 lived with daughter Mrs Goble. Funeral held at Goble home and interred in Syracuse with family present.

Old Mrs. Lyons Dies Near Town After Long Life

Mrs. Martha J Lyons aged 85 died at the home of Mrs. Stillwell west of town on Thursday morning October 22. Born August 13 1818 in Ross County Ohio she married David Lyons in 1840 and had seven children. The family moved to Iowa in 1852 and Story county has been home since 1861 except seven years in South Dakota. Funeral from the Stillwell home October 24 at 10 a m conducted by Rev O L Wilson of United Brethren church.
