H. Ream Baker of Eldon Iowa a student at Iowa State College and member of the A T O fraternity drew Farm allotment number 116 in the recent land drawing for farms on the Cheyenne and Standing Rock Indian reservations.
A senior mining engineering student is identified as a member of the class. The remark confirms ongoing academic status within the mining program.
Five hundred fifty licenses have been issued in Story county since the new law began. Each license costs one dollar and the money goes to the fish and game commission fund. At this rate funds will support fish and game protection in Iowa. Hart Belt has built a modern cottage frame on the corner of College Street and Duff Avenue.
In January 1855 Otis Briggs paid 150 cash for corn land on Des Moines outskirts. Recently widow Jennie Briggs leased 66 by 132 feet at 3 600 yearly for 99 years. Des Moines millionaire F M Hubbell holds the lease and plans a 50 000 skyscraper, paying 375 400 for the term plus taxes. The lot previously yielded 100 monthly rent. Frank Cessna, the sole son of Dr. and Mrs. O. H. Cessna, died Thursday evening at 7:45. Funeral services are set for Sunday at 2:30 at the family home, with interment to follow in the college cemetery.

Mrs Anna Kucera, married in 1901 to Maxwell restaurant man, alleges cruel and inhuman treatment and seeks divorce and alimony. An attachment on her husband’s property was granted by Judge Lee last Saturday. The couple has two children and she requests temporary alimony of 300 dollars and 2000 dollars at final decree.
A. H. Van Kirk, 60s, a carpenter, died of heart trouble while finishing work in the Iowa Sanitarium building in Nevada. He dropped a hammer and collapsed during repairs to a dumb waiter. death occurred shortly after 1 pm. Brief services were held at the Adventist church and he was buried in Rochester, Minnesota.
W. P. Kintzley entered the office with a market basket claiming it held a potato. He produced the heavy specimen weighing 4 pounds, nearly Hubbard squash size, from a potato patch on his cousin Willie Ketchum’s Springfield farm during a recent visit.

Mr. P. Paulson of Ames called on Dr. O. A. Young, a well known specialist, in Des Moines. Inspector Mundell checked the Ames post office and Station A on Monday. both offices were in excellent condition.
The Ames high school football team will meet North Des Moines next Saturday as a curtain raiser to the Ames-Des Moines College team on state field in the afternoon.
