Farewell Sermon Next Sunday for Rev. Houser
After a three year pastorate Rev. J. T. Houser leaves Ames to lead a larger church in Bloomfield Iowa. He will preach his farewell in Ames on Sunday October 15. He doubled church membership, paid a long standing debt and gained broad support. He also inspired revival meetings in Ontario and Bloomington. The Ames church board passed resolutions of appreciation as he departs for a 600 member church with a 1200 seat cement building. The community wishes Godspeed to Houser and family.

W. W. Starsh of Wattering, a dairy association leader, was informed President Taft will present a silver cup to top intercollegiate dairy cow judging student at Chicago's National Dairy Show. New High School Building Under Construction This Week
Excavation began for the new high school to be centered between Fifth and Sixth streets on Clark Avenue. The old school cellars are being filled as the Ripiscopal church is moved. the church basement is complete and the building lifted from its foundation. Heating plant and roof work advance while walls and smoke stack progress. weather permitting, construction will accelerate this fall for a ready, useful school next year.

1911 Drill Regulations Published For U S Army
The 1911 drill regulations for the United States army have been published. College cadets drill under the new rules with several major changes. A board of officers prepared the regulations including Lieut Col John T Morrison Capt Merch B Stewart and Capt Alfred W Bjornstad.
