The Iowa Ames football state championship game drew thousands with Iowa winning 8 to 0. Local campus notices report faculty talks, society events, honorary fraternity Alpha Zeta, and a string of lectures and horticulture society plans throughout Ames Des Moines and Onawa.
The Choral Society with seventy five voices directed by Mr. Resler and assisted by top local talent presents Cowen's Rose Maiden in the college chapel on December 6. Soloists Mrs. Wagner Shank Mrs. Wilkins Ryan and Mr. Campbell star in a program praised for beauty and range. Tickets 50 and 35 cents, available December 4 at Judish Bros drug store and the college book store.
The home of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Duntz hosted about forty guests on Saturday November 25 to celebrate the golden wedding of Franklin C. Hunter and Julia A. Betts. A four course dinner, photographs, and a gift of gold beaded silk umbrellas marked the occasion. The couple married in 1853 in Fort Seneca Ohio and moved to Ames Iowa in 1887. They had six children and eleven grandchildren. The guests included local families and Mr. Ira Briley of Boone attended from out of town. The P. BO. society will meet with Mrs. Hultz on Tuesday December 6 at 3:00.
Miss Pearl Bennett and Mr Olile Crambitt were married last evening at the bride’s mother's home five miles south of town. The couple, well known and respected, plan to live on a farm south of town with the groom described as a prosperous farmer.
