Iowa road engineering program highlights and future plans

The report notes miles traveled with light loads on roads, potential cost reductions with better roads, and tests on different road surfaces. Drainage advantages cut resistance from 455 593 pounds per ton to 125 144 during mud. The department trains many road engineers, but job demand for civil engineers exceeds supply, urging Iowa to attract graduates.
