Boone Herald writer FRED Moore mocked U S marshals and Federal court officers, prompting a summons before the Federal Grand Jury. A populist mass convention at Agnes City Hall on April 4 seeks delegates for the state convention in Des Moines on April 22.
Frederick Nicholas Chouch, author of Kathleen Mavourneen, is dying in Baltimore. He sold the melody to a publisher for five pounds sterling, who published many editions and later auctioned it for 2500 dollars.
