An old advert invites readers to visit any drug store to obtain a free sample of Cham berlain’s Stomach and Liver Tablets described as the best physic. The notice promotes cleansing the stomach improving appetite and regulating the bowels with regular 25 cent boxes available from all druggists.
Various items from Story County include social games hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Charlies Soper, travel notes of Andreas A. Hereim returning from Norway, and the Sapp family released from quarantine after scarlet fever and a fatal case of consumption. A group of Shorthorn breeders formed a county association, while railroad planner William Moody outlined a Newton line reaching near Cambridge and Maxwell residents awaited its progress. Rhoda Sheickle Evans, born 1823 in Ohio, died near Collins Iowa at 79 with seven Evans children surviving.
The Nevada Journal and Ames Times report two damages actions of 2000 dollars each. Gay Bower sues E H Taylor for malicious prosecution after a larceny case over two overcoats ended in acquittal. Gene Breezley sues W H Ayers for the same alleged misconduct. Trial dates set for the next term beginning March 23.

The District Court of Story county Iowa appoints Parley Sheldon as executor of the estate of R Jane Van Scoy deceased. Creditors must present claims legally authenticated to the court for allowance. debtors to make payment to the executor. Dated Ames Iowa January 27 1903.
