Schoolhouse Contract Lets In Ames With Local Firm
At a trustees meeting bids were reconsidered and Enslow Johnson Hoagland of Chariton Ia won the contract for a new fourth ward school building to be finished by Sept 30 1906. The buff pressed brick structure will be two stories with a basement and electric lights, hot air heat, and four assembly rooms, near the Iowa State College campus.

Pioneer settler William Lindsay dies in Ames Illinois
Obituary notes William Sargeant Lindsay born December 1, 1826 in Genessee County New York died June 24 1906 at his Ames Illinois home. Married Ethalinda Chandler December 22 1850 in Winfield Illinois five children two surviving. He moved to Iowa in 1862 contributing to pioneer development. Interment in Ames Cemetery Follows Funeral June 26 1906
From his late residence on Boone Street, interment occurred Tuesday June 26 1906 at 10:00 a m. The service was by Rev. Andrew M. Shea and the body laid to rest in the Ames cemetery. Intermission, his home and interests had long been in Story County since 1869.
