Advertises a local shop cashing in old coins and stocking Dress Goods incl Woolens Washables Chiffons and Laces. Shoppers can also find Pants Overalls Shirts Silk Umbrellas Flour Sugar Coffees Teas Spices and Eggs in a single parish store.
The Republicans of Story County meet at the Court House in Nevada on Saturday June 29 at 11 am to nominate county officers including Representative 52nd District County Treasurer Sheriff Superintendent of Schools and Board of Supervisors Coroner Surveyor. They will elect 15 delegates to the Des Moines state convention July 10 1805 and delegates to the Senate convention not yet called. Each township ward and precinct gets two delegates plus one for each fifty votes or major fraction for W M McFarland in 1804.

Local notices reveal multiple candidates for County Treasurer including W H Stevens from Grant township and H T Henryson of Story City both declaring candidacy subject to the Republican County Convention. Others pledge to seek the treasurer post under party guidance and a supervisor race is noted in Ames and Story County.
Candidate notices from Slater and German Township in 1895 declare runs for county superintendent. K L Meek of Slater, and Geo W Phillips with Meads name appear as contenders subject to Republican county convention actions.
