Printer posers, coat thief nabbed after train chase
A man claiming to be a printer tried to borrow breakfast money at the Times office but was rejected for smelling of cider and drinking. He later sold a coat to Bates Drug store for five dollars, with Marshal Hoggatt chasing him to Randall, where he was found in a box car. The man gave varying names, identified as Oakey, possibly Chicago-born, and may be insane. The incident ends with the coat recovered and the suspect returned to Ames for disposition.
