From Neighborhood Letters on Harvests and Local News
Hot dry winds worry farmers as a downpour would boost potato and corn crops. Neighbors report weddings, new threshing outfits, sales, and travel, with updates on dairy milk shortages, pest flies, and farm work. Community notes mention marriages, visitors, and political shifts toward free silver. Weaving through are farm moves, repairs, and local outings.
