The Story City event marked the sixtieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Ammon Hipsher and Mr. Hipsher’s eighty-eighth birthday. About 150 relatives gathered at Odd Fellows hall for a noon dinner and memories of early Story County life. Remarks from Mayor Parley Sheldon and others followed, then a note from Uncle Steve O’Brien and a twenty five dollar purse presented to the couple. The couple’s life journey began in Pennsylvania and Ohio, moved through Indiana and Nebraska, and ended in Story County with years in Maryfield and Tama City before settling in Ames for the winter with their daughter.
