New Hall of Engineering Opens at Iowa State College

The Iowa State College dedicates the new Engineering Hall in a joint event with the Iowa Engineering Society and the Iowa Brick and Tile Makers. A wide first story hall runs north to south with multiple doors and a basement access via the west side near the stairwell. Venetian mosaic floors, oak lockers numbering 403, and veneered furniture define the space as an engineering museum. Two large pink marble columns support the roof, crafted on site by Chicago workers under H. W. Schleuter. The fourth story houses drafting rooms, photography, and blueprint facilities for civil and mechanical departments.
