Story County announces a town council ruling to construct a city jail with accommodations for two prisoners. The notice lists related local notices, upcoming auctions, civil notices, and community events from Cambridge and Nevada areas.
A public auction of farm property by H. F. Wooprourr will be held on the farm six and a half miles southwest of Ames and near Ontario on Wednesday January 17 at 10 o'clock. The sale includes 114 head of live stock and 97 head of cattle with dairy and beef stock, plus farm machinery such as a Milwaukee harvester a McCormick mower John Deere riding cultivators and a Case gang plow along with hay harness wagons and other equipment. Free lunch will be served at noon and terms offer two percent discount for cash with year’s time on bankable date of sale. No property may be removed until settled for.
At Odd Fellows Hall on Monday January 15 at eight o clock Mrs Margaret Cooper of Ames high school will recite her own composition A Christmas Dream by invitation. A lecture on world of thinkers questions follows by John M Work of Des Moines. Music from 7 30 to 8 00 free all invited.
